Compliance shouldn't be a luxury
PassportCraft helps brands create EU Digital Product Passports — the QR-linked records the EU will require for products sold in Europe — without enterprise software or a dedicated compliance team.
Our mission
The EU's Digital Product Passport will change how every product sold in Europe is made, sold, and recycled. Most compliance platforms cost thousands a month and assume you already have a dedicated compliance team. We're building PassportCraft so any brand — whether you're publishing your first passport or managing a catalog of thousands — can meet the standard, guided by software instead of dependent on a consultant.
Why we built PassportCraft
We build tools for the brands behind the products people love, and we kept noticing the same thing in the Digital Product Passport rules coming out of Brussels: a regulation written with the largest manufacturers in mind, and a market of compliance vendors priced to match.
Brands without a dedicated compliance department were being quoted enterprise contracts to solve a problem that, at its core, is about structuring product information clearly and publishing it behind a QR code. That gap — between what the regulation actually requires and what it costs to comply — is the reason PassportCraft exists.
What we believe
The principles that shape every decision we make.
Clear plans, no hidden fees, no enterprise sales calls. You always know exactly what you pay.
Step-by-step workflows that don't assume compliance expertise. The software does the heavy lifting, so you don't have to hire it out.
GS1 Digital Link and Schema.org under the hood, so your passports stay portable and interoperable — never locked to us.
EU-aware data handling and 10-year retention, because the regulations demand it and your products outlive any single deadline.
We use AI to speed up the busywork, but you review and approve everything before it's published. Compliance is your call, never an algorithm's.
EU rules are still taking shape. We track ESPR and its delegated acts so the platform evolves with the requirements, not after them.
Frequently asked questions
- What is PassportCraft?
- PassportCraft is a software platform that helps brands create, host, and manage EU Digital Product Passports (DPPs). It turns your product information into a compliant, QR-linked passport page that meets the EU's Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) — without enterprise software or a dedicated compliance team.
- Who is PassportCraft for?
- Any brand selling physical products into the European Union — across textiles and fashion, and increasingly batteries, electronics, and furniture as DPP requirements expand. Whether you're an independent studio publishing your first passport or an established manufacturer managing a large catalog, PassportCraft scales to fit.
- Do I need to be based in the EU to use it?
- No. The Digital Product Passport applies to products placed on the EU market, regardless of where your brand is based. Brands selling into the EU from outside — including the US, UK, Turkey, and China — use PassportCraft to meet the same requirements.
- What standards does PassportCraft use?
- Passports are built on open standards — GS1 Digital Link for the QR data carrier and Schema.org for structured product data — so your information stays portable and interoperable rather than locked into a proprietary format.
- Who is responsible for the accuracy of my passport data?
- You are. PassportCraft helps you structure and publish your product information and uses AI to assist with drafting, but you review and approve everything before it goes live. Your brand always owns and signs off on what appears in your passports.
- How long is my passport data kept?
- PassportCraft retains passport data for 10 years, in line with what DPP regulations are expected to require, so your records stay available for the full lifecycle of your products.
